Come Learn To Sew With Us!
A summer camp offered to teach a new skill set that can be used well into the future. At MDQ Designs we love nurturing creative outlets and helping to teach people how to sew and quilt. When choosing a sewing machine to offer for this camp we picked one that was basic enough to be affordable but easy enough for kids to use without becoming frustrated and giving up when they are at home on their own long after the camp is over. Meet the 260c smarter™ by PFAFF! This is an electronic machine with several stitch options and all of the features they will learn about are easy to see and understand. The User Manual is so easy to follow with several pictures, perfect for kids. This machine typically retails at our shop for $739 and will be given to each participant to take home after the class as their very OWN machine!
About the Camp: We will make new projects everyday and the kids will learn how to fully care for and use their machine. At the end of the camp they will take it ALL home! We plan to have so much fun! The classes will primarily be taught by Jaci and Leah. We will have kits ready for each project, and they will get to choose their own fabrics for one of them!
Age Group: Participants must be 9-16 years old at time of class.
Parents: Encouraged to drop their children off and leave the teaching to us! :)
Date & Time: June 16th-June 20th / Each day the classes will run from 9am to 1pm, it will be important to be on time. We will have snack breaks!
Supplies: We’ve learned it is best for everyone to have the same set of tools when learning, a supply kit with everything needed will be required for the class. $50 additional purchase (plus tax). Fun, bright sewing notions bundled up in a cute storage box to be purchased on the day of class.
Cost: $600 + $50 supply kit - a $300 non-refundable deposit will be due at time of sign up.
We invite the students to come back and take future classes at the shop to keep them sewing and learning new techniques. Advanced summer camps and 1-day classes are offered.
