Ready to Learn the Basics of Quilting?
Curious about quilting? Maybe you’ve always wanted to learn but weren’t sure where to start — or perhaps you’re feeling a little rusty and want to refresh your sewing skills. This class is the perfect place to begin!
Join us in the MDQ Classroom with Tanya Engel for a fun, hands-on two-day class where we’ll work together to create a small throw quilt while learning the basic skills and techniques you need to continue quilting with confidence.
Whether you’re completely new to quilting or just need a refresher, we’ll take it step-by-step and make sure you have a great time along the way!

Monday & Tuesday, September 14 & 15
9:00 AM–3:00 PM both days
MDQ Classroom
Class Fee: $75
Your $75 class fee includes the pattern and instructor fee.
Supplies Needed
Sewing machine — Rentals are available through MDQ Designs if needed.
Your sewing machine’s user manual
Typical quilting tools, including:
Scissors
Pins
Seam ripper
6 Fat Quarters — Stop by MDQ Designs before class and we’ll help you choose 6 coordinating fabrics for your quilt.
Coordinating thread
After the top is made we will pick backing, binding fabric and batting.

If you cancel after signing up, you will receive store credit in the form of a gift card. No refunds will be issued, as we order supplies and prepare materials ahead of class.
If MDQ needs to cancel or reschedule, you may choose between a refund or store credit.
